Dr. Girardi saw me on short notice while I was in tremendous, soul-wrecking pain after my herniated disc began to impact my nerve. I’m not prone to hyperbole but I went from “not great” to barely being able to function in just a few weeks. After my MRI confirmed a microdisectomy was the way to go, he moved heaven and earth to get me into the OR asap. Prior to the surgery, he gave me his cell phone(!) and said to “call him anytime, that’s what I’m here for”. It was my 3rd surgery at HSS (neither related to my spine) and I can’t imagine a finer surgical center anywhere in the world. Fast forward and the surgery was a complete success. I’m completely healed 8 weeks later. Dr Girardi was amazing on the follow up, gave me a clean bill of health and told me once again to call anytime if things got worse. He was caring, compassionate and professional. So much so that this is the first review I’ve written for anything or anyone in my life.
