Rodrigo’s Anterior Cervical Decompression Patient Story
Before going to HSS and seeing spine surgeon Dr. Federico Girardi, I could not sleep more than 2-3 hours at night and could not have a minimum quality of life due to chronic pain and radiculopathy. I had a Cervical Epidural Steroid Injection, and I had less than 10% improvement. This made me travel to New York without any appointment. I flew to NY on Sunday without any appointment, and Dr. Girardi was kind enough to see me on Monday at the end of the day. He was also kind enough to schedule the surgery on the Thursday of the same week. I’m extremely happy that I had the ACDF. In the recovery room, I woke up without the radiculopathy and the chronic pain. I had pain the first 10-12 days post-op, but every day, I feel much better. I can’t wait to go to my normal life in a few weeks.
