Jon’s Microdiscectomy Patient Story

Thank you so much to Dr. Girardi and his team for helping me in January-February 2021. I previously had spinal surgery, not at HSS, and after a few years, the pain and symptoms returned. It negatively affected my lifestyle as I could no longer workout, be active, or golf. I was in a lot of pain and was experiencing a lot of discomfort. Previously I have tried everything from physical therapy to injections without relief. I saw Dr. Girardi and he recommended a microdiscectomy.

My surgical experience at HSS was very smooth and easy. I felt pain relief immediately upon waking up in the recovery room. I am very happy as I can return to doing the activities that I enjoy.
