Linda’s Spinal Fusion Story

In December of 2022, I had spinal fusion performed by Dr. Federico Girardi. Prior to surgery, my pain level was a constant 8. I could not sit, and walking was limited by falls due to weakness in my legs. Most activity was hindered due to pain and weakness from my back. Knowing my injury was certainly not as sever as most of his patients, I was very fortunate that Dr. Girardi was able to perform the surgery. While in the recovery room, I was able to walk with limited pain and I went home almost pain free. I stopped all pain medication two days after I arrived home and have been pain free. The entire experience was seamless, and the hospital staff went above and beyond to support me. I cannot say enough about the care the nurses showed me.
